Life Cultivation and Rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), a monograph systematically introducing the knowledge of TCM life cultivation and rehabilitation, is intended for the readers to learn the theories of life cultivation and rehabilitation and to grasp the various relevant techniques of health care and rehabilitation.
Life cultivation and rehabilitation originally be- to the different categories of disciplines of the two major branches of traditional Chinese and Western medical systems. The gradual formation of the system of TCM life cultivation and rehabilitation is Wed on the theories and practice of life cultivation and rehabilitation during the thousands of years of the Chinese people in combination with certain theories and techniques of the modern science of rehabilitation during the second half of the twentieth century. This is just the reason why this book has combined the two disciplines into one science for exposition.
This book is composed of nine chapters. The content includes the basic theories and concepts of life cultivation and rehabilitation of TCM, various effective methods and clinical techniques of life cultivation and rehabilitation, the measures of life cultivation and health care in the light of people groups, seasons, regions of the body as well as the rehabilitation methods of twenty-six commonly-seen diseases.
The book does not offer the sources of the originals cited from the ancient books and expresses the originals in simple language -instead for the convenience of the readers though it originates from the treasure-house of TCM with a long history of thousands of years. All the names of drugs, acupoints, prescriptions and books in this book are the standard and current ones. As for the names of diseases, we mainly use the names of diseases of modem medicine. In view of the specific characteristics of the discipline of TCM life cultivation and rehabilitation, the first section of chapter nine discusses chiefly symptoms. All the names of diseases of TCM in this book are modem general names.
The science of TCM Life Cultivation and Rehabilitation, a comprehensive practical discipline, is based on the basic theories of TCM, diagnostic techniques, drugs, prescriptions as well as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and pediatrics. Therefore, the readers can achieve overall mastery through a comprehensive study of this book in combination with other books of the series of books by means of mutual connection and consultation.
